Hands have been shaken, and despite being early in the process, it’s a good bet that somewhere a champagne cork has been popped. Warner Bros. Discovery has officially chosen Netflix as the winning bidder for its movie and TV studio assets, as well as its streaming service HBO Max and all the attendant rights that go along with it.
The deal is expected to close in the third quarter of 2026, but there’s a lot of time and unanswered questions between now and then. While The Streamable can’t do anything to speed up the wait, we can at least help to lay out the unanswered questions we have about the deal, and see if we can’t help answer them for you...
