That sounds extremely counter-productive in the age of video-everything, but there’s a semi-hidden transcript function on YouTube that lets you read the video’s entire captions. And it’s incredibly useful if you know how to use it. Why? Transcripts make it easier to find what I need and save me time by jumping to the right timestamp in the video. As a side effect, they can avoid some mid-video ads for non-YouTube Premium users.
