When the news came out that Netflix had grown to 238.39 million subscribers in the second quarter of 2023, there was understandably plenty of attention paid to its customer increases.

But Netflix’s actual earnings during the quarter were not as robust as some analysts were expecting, and any sign of weakness from the world’s largest streaming service leads to anxiety in the marketplace about the future prospects of streaming in general.

Netflix's frequent price increases are getting tiring. It's becoming challenging to justify the rising costs, especially when the initial appeal of the platform was its affordability and value for money, and wide range of top-quality content. Both are severely lacking these days

Content and cost are both factors that will impact growth. Bet we start seeing more mergers as more streaming TV providers struggle with decreasing subscriber numbers. Much of their growth came at a time of cheap, easy, and free money which now looks to be behind us.
