Netflix posted a whopping 5.9 million new subscribers in Q2 2023, beating expectations. They attributed much of that growth to their ballyhooed (I love that word) password crackdown, though did not provide any, you know, numbers to support it. More of a “take it on faith” kind of thing.

Their earnings report sent their stock moving in the wrong direction... And they killed their middle tier cheaper basic plan without ads for new subscribers, so now you can choose either their lowest priced 1080p plan with ads, and limited content for $6.99 / month. The Netflix middle plan is $15.49 / month without ads and is also 1080p. Or their most expensive 4K UHD plan also without ads costs $19.99 / month.

The middle plan allows you to add one shared user for an extra $7.99 / month. And their top 4K plan allows you to add two extra shared accounts at $7.99 /month, for each additional user. Netflix also recently announced it will not be increasing prices for the rest of the year until sometime in 2024.
